All-terrain vehicles remain popular in Florida. While the Consumer Product Safety Commission says that there has been a decline in recent years in ATV accident related injury and death across the country, the number of wrecks remains far too high. In fact, Florida ranks in the top 10 states for all terrain vehicle deaths.

Accident victims may suffer a wide variety of injuries when an ATV is involved in an accident. Many accident victims can be thrown or ejected if an ATV rolls-over in a wreck”which can lead to significant head trauma and brain injury. People can injure limbs, suffer internal injuries, and even lose their lives in a recreational vehicle wreck.
Channel 4 reports a 24-year-old was critically injured Thursday afternoon when he pulled out of a driveway in front of a pickup truck in Columbia County. FHP states a Ford F-250 was westbound on N.W. Saturn Lane just before 4:15 p.m. when the individual on the ATV pulled out onto the street. The injured driver was flown by air ambulance to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida with critical injuries. According to the FHP report, charges are pending.
